Brainspotting

What is Brainspotting?

Brainspotting is an approach that focuses on finding specific eye positions connected to where trauma lives in the nervous system, helping release what's held in the subcortical brain, the deeper parts that store fear, shame, and survival responses, without requiring the client to explain it all. Developed in 2003 by Dr. David Grand, it works on the core principle that "where we look affects how we feel".

Brainspotting sessions can feel quiet and internal. For people who've spent years engaging in various kinds of therapy, it can open doors that other cognitive or behavioral approaches sometimes can't.

Who can benefit from Brainspotting?

You can benefit from Brainspotting if you’ve felt stuck in behavioral patterns, emotional pain, or physical stress that traditional talk therapy hasn't fully resolved. Because it accesses the deep, instinctual parts of the brain, growing research supports its effectiveness for trauma, performance anxiety, and chronic pain.
